Secondhand Serenade

Secondhand Serenade is an American acoustic rock band. The genres of Secondhand Serenade are acoustic rock, alternative rock, and emo pop. This band led by John Visely as a vocalist and guitarist and the labels is Warner/Glassnote. The additional musicians are Lukas Visely (John Visely's brother) on keys/vox, Ryan Cook on lead guitar/vox, and Tom Breyfogle  on drums. . Secondhand Serenade formed by Visely in 2004 in his home town in Menlo Park, California, USA. His dad is a professional jazz musician. He played bass in local bands about eight years. Then he opted for an acoustic guitar. He was starting to write his songs when he met his wife, Candice Visely. They have two sons. But unfortunately this couple broke up in 2008. And John Visely was really heart broken, and he made many sad songs as a reference to the divorce in "A Twist in My Story" album.

The first album was released in 2004. The title is Awake. This albums gave Visely his first chartings, debuting at #16 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart and more successful at #164 on the Billboard 200, #3 on the Top Heatseekers, and #19 on the Independent Albums chart.

The second album A Twist In My Story was released on February 19, 2008. Some songs was reproduced with a full band. In November 2008, the first song in this album (Fall For You) was certified platinum by the RIAA. As of December 2008 Fall For You was still #13 on the American Top 40 songs in the country.

The third album or the newest album is Hear Me Now. It was released in 2010. Visely said "Secondhand Serenade - singer/songwriter John Visely return with his third album, Hear Me Now, out on August 3rd on ILG/Glassnote. Eight of eleven songs on the album were produced by Aaron Johnson (The Fray) at Swing House studion in Los Angeles. The other three, including the first single "Something More" were produced by John Visely himself along Secondhand drumer Tom Breyfogle at Visely's home studio and mix by Mark Endert (Train, Maroon5)". On July 27, 2010 John Visely added eleven tracks off of the new album to his MySpace and made them available for fans. The next single of the new album is a new version You and I featuring Cady Groves.

Many songs of Secondhand Serenade inspired me and helped me to learn English more. I think songs are the biggest effects that learned me English. When I listening to song, I learned the lyrics an then I can pronounced it, because I already knew and heard how to pronounce it correctly. I made a playlist on my cellphone just for Secondhand Serenade's songs. :p

Thanks John Visely, thanks Secondhand Serenade, and thanks Miss Silvana. c:
