My Good Friends from The Net

Other people make friends at school or workplace or even from social networking site such as facebook, for me..i make friends with people i meet online.I have three good friends which i met on spinchat, a chat site where we all met.

My first good friend is a polish named Wojtas. He even posts his comments on this blog regularly. He's the first guy who's so nice to me and we decided to write each other via e-mail. He's a helper too in my thesis writing process. He helps me edit and gives comment on my draft. He studies in university now and he's majoring English translation - correct me if I'm wrong Wojtas.

To me Wojtas is a cool and calm person, and a smart guy. He works hard on managing his study and life. He has passion in teaching and he already gives private tutorial for some students. I've tried to make him teach here in Indonesia after he graduate, so that i can have a partner in teaching. So far he hasn't said yes to my plan. But time will answer. I'm so good at approaching people he he







My next friend is a German, named Gunter. Gunter is a busy engineer who works in a manufacture company. I forgot what the company really works on. He loves paddling so much. In fact he has been paddling since he was 12 years old. He showed me some of his pics when he paddled to the river in The Alps. He also likes hiking and cycling. He loves outdoor adventure.And he usually helps his nephew with his math's homework. I think he's a smart guy though he's so quiet. Definitely not as talkative as i am.

My other close friend which i met online from the same chat site is Rahul Mathur. He's Indian. He comes from Jaipur but he lives and works in Delhi. He's the funniest guy. He's also talkative. He likes to call me with many kind of nicknames. He calls me miss bee since i always busy, that's according to him though. He also calls me mombassa (which i believe is a city in Kenya), daddu, bambino, and  other funny nicknames. He's the most cheerful one.

Having an online friends is cool. It helps me to know people better. And of course help me to know how to get along with people from different countries and different culture. As a sign of friendship i sent them postcards. It's just a lot of fun.


Friendship is not only in real life, even the technology can help you to find nice friends from all over the world.

Let’s talk about a boyband …..

I want to tell you how can I love a boyband ….

I had a neighbor, she was 11 years old. She really loved with boyband. At the first she like boyband, she love a boyband from Indonesia SM*SH. She really addict with boyband. Not only from Indonesia she also like Boyband from Korea and Japan.

At the first time I think that what did you see from boyband they weren’t good…

But I knew that all of my judge was wrong….

Thank you for my neighbor that helped me to show that boyband wasn’t to bad. Actually, I never like boyband from Indonesia because they can’t show their quality, they never care with their voices and they didn’t care about how to make their fans satisfied.

That was the think that I don’t like. But, my dearest neighbor always played the Boyband from Japan.

Boyband Oh Boyband...

Recently Indonesian teens are so crazy about new boybands and girlbands. I believe this phenomenon, especially the boyband, is not a brand new thing. It happens in other country too. I believe when i was in Junior high school, which was like 13 years ago the world was crazy about Backstreet Boys; N'Sync-who's lead singer now is a big superstar called Justin Timberlake; and i also remember another boyband ehm..LFO 

But as i remember the first boyband should be addressed to The Beatles!! 

Now i'd like to give my opinion about the term boyband. To me boyband is a group of boy in a music band. But then what's important is their appearance, their costume and physical appearance let's say..gorgeous ones :D. Well The Beatles, internationally famous since 1960s definitely fit in this definition. They're gorgeous, attractive to ladies, and they were all unite in a band. The Beatles music genre was rock. They have many men fans too. But since the members were cute, young, fresh, and handsome, in all of their concert you'll hear ladies' scream. I guess the ladies went for the  appearance rather than the musical ability. Or maybe because in the past there were rare cute boys in the band ladies went crazy for them. So yes, to me The Beatles were the first and the super famous one.   

Then, still in the same country England, Take That n English five-piece vocal pop group comprising Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams is another boyband which succesfully conquered Europe and the rest of the world. The band was active in the music industry since 1990 - 1996, then they had a break and re-unite again in 2005. They still exist till now, but of course they become a "man" band :D. Take that marked the ear of gorgeous-energetic boys who don't play musical instrument in their performance with lead singers. Pop is their genre. Their performance is supported by dance ability. And yes, they succesfully got girls attention. 

Started from Take That, my own definition of boyband has switched from a group of boys in a band to a group of boys with cute and gorgeous face in attractive appearance who expected to sing as good as dance. Well, wikipedia define boyband as "a popular music act consisting of only male singers. The members are expected to danceas well as sing, usually giving highly choreographed performances. More often than not, boy band members do not play musical instruments, either in recording sessions or on stage" Read more about boyband here.

The rest of the world then followed Take That success. Mostly in Europe. In the same era, in 1993 Boyzone, an Irish boyband with two lead singers, Ronan Keating and Stephen Gately smashed the UK hit list. Just like their predecessor, Boyzone members sing and dance with their charm on the stage. And yes, they're gorgeous. They might not be famous in U.S but they're so famous in Asia. I guess Asia really loves cute boys in a band.

Another famous boyband formed in the 1990s - 2000 are 

• Caught In The Act (a half English, half Dutch boy band. established in 1993 with four members of the group: Lee Baxter, Eloy de Jong, Bastiaan Ragas and Benjamin Boyce); 
• Code Red (a British boyband with Phillip Andrew Rodell, Neil James Watts, Lee John Missen, and Roger Ratajczak as band members formed in the 1996); 
• A 1 (a British-Norwegian boyband, originally made up of Mark Read, Ben Adams, Christian Ingebrigtsen and Paul Marazzi in 1998); 
• Westlife (an Irish boy band established on 3 July 1998 with early line up consists of Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan and Brian McFadden)
• Blue (an English pop vocal group, whose members are Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan, Duncan James and Antony Costa. Blue originally formed in 2001);  
• The Backstreet Boys (an American vocal group, formed in Orlando, Florida in 1993. The band originally consisted of A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter and Kevin Richardson)
• 'N Sync (an American boy band formed in Orlando, Florida consisted of JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick formed in 1995)

There are still dozens of famous boyband at that time, but the last two were the famous ones in U.S and the rest couldn't conquer the U.S music market but they were succesfully won Asians' heart. Like mine, since in the past I love Westlife :D. Anyway the list above were list of boyband which was quite famous in Indonesia started in the 1990s.

          Then lately, started in 2009-2011 Indonesia's teens - the girls are crazy about Indonesian Boybands. Unlike the famous European and U.S boyband, Indonesian boybands are following Korean boybands. The musical genre is called K-popo which is a musical genre consisting of electropop, hip hop,pop, rock, and R&B music originating in South Korea (K-pop information here).  Indonesian Boybands are copying the music genre, costume, style, performance, and dance of the famous first Korean Boybands. To name some of the band here are the list and i think many more will be formed in the near future.

• NSG Star
• S9B (Super Nine Boys)
• M1st
• Treeji
• 3 in 1

I bet all of these boybands try hard to win the boyband competition. They are having the same criteria. Good looking, good appearance, good dancing, and ehm...to me not good vocal quality. But since they sing altogether the vocal harmony does help. Do the girls mind their vocal? No! I believe outer beauty come first. Smash, the most famous one so far even had a special 1 month reality show on TV. And cheers and screams were all around whenever the band went outing.

            Well, no more story about Indonesian boybands since they're all new and so far there's no interesting story about them. Sadly they copy the Korean and Japan boybands so that to me they just a bunch of copycat boys. But wait..maybe i'm wrong too, they just meet the demand of the market. To be like exactly like one of the already succesful boybands. Will the boybands last long? I doubt that.

Last week, when I was browse in Youtube. I saw a nice video about accoustic songs that sing by someone that I don't know. Then, i looked many video of it. Actually i was really love to listen songs that the genre is pop or maybe rock to be change in another version like accoustic.

My Lovely Hamsters

I have a lovely pet, my pet are hamsters. This is the first time I have a pet. At the first time it’s very strange because I must clean the cage and it’s very disgusting. Actually, I’m not good to care some pet, but I tried it and I want to know I can do it or not. 

First time I have a hamsters and the type is Dominant Campbell. This type is not good for people who afraid to touch the hamster. Campbell really loves biting. And when I bought it I never touch it because I’m afraid. When I cleaned the cage I move it into a box and I closed the box. First day it’s okay, nothing happen. Next day, I enjoy to had the pet and I always kept it, feed it. It was very funny when you see it eating. 

It needs some attention from us. We must see the drink bottle, never let it empty. The food are contain of sunflower seed, concentrate (rabbit food), fish food and some seeds that I don’t know the name. They were funny when they slept.

For their bed, sometimes we can use the sand or sawdust. For me the sand is better because it’s very cheap and you will not worry about the bad smell, it really helps you when you don’t have time to clean the cage. 

Not only seeds that I give to my hamster, but I also give some vegetables like carrot, ramble and bean. Never give them vegetables like spinach, lettuce or anything that have green color because it will make them get diarrhea. And if they got a sick it will be some dangerous things for us, because sometimes they can die. For the vegetables food we called it a snack for hamster, never give it every day to them because it’s not good. Only once or twice a week and it’s not waste your money because you can asked your mom or find it in refrigerator. 

My female hamster has white and brown fur and also with red eyes, when night come the eye look like a red lamp. The male hamster has white and grey fur with the black eyes. Both of them, the male are very love biting. He ever bites my finger and it was hurt. Twice a week I cleaned the cage. I bought them at July, 29 2011. I ever let the cage dirty for a week and the smell was very bad. 

I never think if my hamster will have a baby. At August, 10 2011 my hamster have a new baby. I was excited when I saw the baby because it was disgusting. I don’t know how to care the babies. I never had experience before. But I tried to browse some information in internet ‘How to care the baby hamster’ and I tried it, I only have one cage. I was confused because I read in internet that the mom and the babies must be separated with the dad. So, I put the mom and the babies in a shoes box.

I put sawdust in the box and put it in the place that dark and quite. The information said we couldn’t see them in many times because it will be dangerous for the mom, they can ate the baby. The baby is only two, I think it can be more, but it’s not. You can’t touch the babies till the age about 3-4 weeks. When I cleaned the box I will move the baby with spoon. 

Bad accident happen when the babies age about 3 weeks, the mom was gone she bite the box and make a hole. When it happened I was at school and my mom send me message. I was shocked and I want my mom to find where the mom is.  When I went home from school I tried to search it used flashlight and I can’t found it. At that day, I know that my hamster gone and the babies don’t have a mom they only have a dad. I really felt it I was sad and I want to cry ….

But, I looked the baby , they still can’t live by self. They still need milk from their mom. So, I search more information again about ‘How to care baby hamster without the mom’ they said we still can care them and we can give them with water and vitamin. I don’t know if hamster also need vitamin for their live. I bought the vitamin and I gave to the baby hamster in their drink bottle. 

But now, the dad and mom has gone, the mom went  away and the daddy I give it to my neighbor ….

So, this is very interesting challenge for me ….
